Dave’s Training is a personal training/group training business located in Harford County, Maryland. Dave has been training individuals and groups for nearly 30 years and opened his business in April 2009 after retiring from the Harford County Sheriff’s Dept. following 25 years of service – the last 8 years as Fitness Instructor for the Law Enforcement and Corrections academies.

Dave is a Personal Trainer certified by the prestigious Cooper Institute in Dallas, TX. He also has an A.A. degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. Dave first began training people when he was given his own weight training class while still a student in Bel Air High School. The Phys Ed. Teachers had observed him and knew that he was more than capable of running a class, so he was in charge of approx 12-15 students in the weight room while the other students were participating in outside sports with the teachers. Dave went on to compete regionally and nationally in bodybuilding competitions representing the State of Maryland in the Teen Mr. America competition in Michigan. He won numerous titles and placed 2nd runner-up or higher in nearly every contest he entered.

While a student in college, Dave was an instructor at a number of local gyms and continued to train friends, relatives and colleagues during his career at the Sheriff’s Dept. Dave helped institute fitness goals in the Sheriff’s office to help deputies be better able to handle situations they may encounter. Through testing, it was determined that Dave was the fittest member of the corrections deputies even though the testing was conducted during his last year of service and most competitors were less than half his age. Dave also won an award for being Harford County Government’s fittest employee when he was in his 40’s.

Dave has trained individuals and groups ranging in age from 12 to their 60’s. He has trained Olympic hopefuls, Army vets, nurses, college and high school students, homemakers, business professionals, competitive athletes, teachers and others. He has never had a student get injured because safety is priority one. He has also never had a student not show significant improvement following training cycles.

Dave currently trains people at his home gym in Forest Hill, MD, where you don’t have to worry about paying for a separate gym membership and you can enjoy the privacy of “straining without an audience!” Training with a friend or two is encouraged and saves $$$. Groups with common goals are also encouraged with the training always focused on meeting specific objectives safely and effectively. Consultations are also available.
