Hardwood Flooring for Eclectic Design, Pt 2

Marked by contrasting textures amid a unifying theme, eclectic design has a unique allure. Whether you prefer to take a different variation on a theme in each room of your home or resist a particular style altogether, you likely don’t want your style put into a box. Perhaps your style can’t quite be described as “eclectic,” but maybe it transforms over time, as your taste and general trends change. Of course, you don’t want to have to change out flooring with each new theme you choose.

Either way, Pioneer Collection Flooring by Rehmeyer can help you provide unity throughout your home in a way that adds interest and beauty to your existing design. For added customization, feel free to ask about the many options and accessories we offer.

Rehmeyer Pioneer Collection flooring comes in random widths of 3, 4, 5, and 6 inches and random lengths that range from 18 to 120 inches. Options we recommend include pre-sanding with micro-bevel, pre-sanding with soft edges, flush pegs, and our Tung Oil finish.

In addition to the species options we looked at in Part 1, the following offerings will delight your senses.

Pioneer Collection Hickory

Pioneer Collection Hickory involves contrasting colors of the heart and sap wood.

This character-grade flooring is both durable and stylish, creating an interesting backdrop to design themes that range from traditional to contemporary in nature.

We think you’ll be amazed at the versatility of this floor, which looks completely different with a seamless, square-edged look, as opposed to when you choose Pre-Sanding and Soft-Edge options that accentuate each custom-milled plank.

Pioneer Collection Red Birch

Our Red Birch floors exhibit sound knots, along with silky grain. With an appearance similar to Cherry, Red Birch boasts amazing hardness, making it an ideal option for families with children and pets. Far from sacrificing style for strength, we think you’ll find that our Pioneer Collection Red Birch floors turn heads, every time.

Pioneer Collection Red Oak

A favorite of many customers and builders, Pioneer Collection Red Oak floors are well known for their stability and hardness. Red Oak is a highly available species, making it among the more affordable flooring options. Unlike your run-of-the-mill ordinary Red Oak floors, our Pioneer Collection Red Oak floors include sound knots and fabulous grain patterns that contribute to interesting texture appreciated by designers of all types.

Pioneer Collection Pine

Rehmeyer offers several varieties when it comes to Pioneer Collection Pine floors. Some of them are Eastern White Pine, Reclaimed Heart Pine, and Longleaf Southern Pine, and each has a distinctive look. All Pine floors display beautiful grain, knots, and character markings that will add interest to your already interesting style.

I didn’t know that there were so many different designs for wood floors. These different designs are awesome, and they’ve given me a lot of really great ideas for the floor in my new house. I really like the look of the Pioneer pine, but I’ll have to run them by my wife first. Thanks for sharing!
