Custom Wire Baskets for Manufacturing

Last updated on July 7, 2008 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

The world of manufacturing holds an infinite array of techniques for molding, assembling, and securing products to make them ready to sell to the public. Whether car engine parts or jet turbines, watch displays or processor chips, manufacturing involves a complicated process of many steps. Much planning goes into making the process as efficient as possible, balancing getting a product out the door on time with producing a well-crafted item. Much equipment is needed to move the process of manufacturing along.

As one step of the process, an item being manufactured sometimes needs to be dipped into a chemical solution for cleaning or testing. Manufacturing anything from medical to military equipment can involve dipping in chemicals. This can be a potentially messy and even dangerous part of the process. Thankfully using equipment like cranes reduce the need for people to be too close to unsafe chemicals.

Also, some companies manufacture products specifically for industries to ease the process of manufacturing. For example, Three M Tool (ThreeMTool.com) makes custom wire baskets of all sizes and shapes to suit the needs of a multitude of manufacturing processes.

Three M manufactures pre-made designs but also designs and makes custom-made baskets. These ensure that parts stay in place and are thoroughly exposed to the chemicals when dipped into the tank. Wire mesh allows the chemical to reach through to the manufactured product but holds together securely, holds heavy items, and won’t melt in extreme heat. 3-D CAD technology ensures that the basket is designed to be just the size and shape needed.

By placing the item in a wire mesh basket such as this Basket with Long Handle for Tank Dipping, a crane can conveniently pick up the basket and lower it into a tank containing the necessary chemical solution. Made of 304 stainless steel welded firmly into place, this basket can withstand high temperatures and securely hold products being manufactured as they are dipped into chemicals.

Three M makes a variety of baskets for crane-fed manufacturing. processes. Another product, the Basket with Chain Sling for Tank Dipping has two chains attached to it that a crane can use to pick it up and drop it into a tank.

Yet another crane-held basket made by Three M Tool is the Carrier Basket with Crossbar for Crane Handling with a metal bar across the top that has a removable hook a crane can hook onto. This basket is mostly open with a perforated metal bottom and retainer rods along the sides to hold large items in place as they are dipped into a tank.

By using these crane fed baskets, an industry can effectively hold products as they go through the manufacturing process, dipping them into chemicals for cleaning, testing, or whatever purpose. Each step of the manufacturing process is important to ensure that an industry is producing items that are of the highest quality and ready to sell.
