Who Can Use Flash Drives?

Last updated on January 7, 2011 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

When you order a thousand flash drives to use as promotional items for your business, you may be left to wonder just how many people can benefit from these devices. The answer may surprise you. CFGear  regularly hears from people in the following industries who benefit from promotional flash drives.

Teachers

Teachers have many sues for flash drives. For their own personal use, they can use flash drives to transport files from their home computers to their work computers. Yet there is so much more that today’s tech-savvy teacher can do with a flash drive.

Imagine a college professor who does not print a course syllabus, but rather gives the syllabus via an affordable flash drive to each student. This would save hundreds of trees over the course of that professor’s career. The students could also be required to use those flash drives to turn in assignments, so they would then not need to use even more paper to print their projects.

In a classroom where a limited number of computers are available, teachers can allow students to use a flash drive to save their work until a computer or a printer is available. This allows students to learn and use technology to the fullest, even when a classroom or school district does not have the budget for a large amount of equipment.

Businesses

Businesses can use flash drives as promotional items, but they have far more uses for the business owner as well. Often, large companies need to have information, such as employee manuals, insurance paperwork and store layouts, passed around from one location to the next. The amount of paper used for this is rather intimidating, but a collection of flash drives could serve the same purpose. In many instances, flash drives are more secure than paper or emailed documents, making them ideal for transporting secure information.

Protection Against Computer Mishaps

People in all walks of life can use a flash drive as protection against computer mishaps. If you store important documents or your family pictures on your computer, one hard drive crash could send you scrambling, with those precious memories gone forever. You can easily back these up onto the right flash drive from time to time. This is cost effective and will protect you against losing these significant pieces of data.

Entrepreneurial Minded Individuals

Entrepreneurs often have to take their businesses on the road, either to present their ideas to potential investors or to network with future clients. Those who will be traveling somewhere that has computers, such as a convention hall, can save some time by putting their presentation onto a flash drive. Then, all they would need to do is plug in the drive and show their skills.

In each of these scenarios, the opportunity to transport data without having to transport a computer is vital. Flash drives meet that need. They are affordable, convenient and can be customized to showcase a business or organization’s logo, thus can work as a marketing item as well. This makes them well suited for each of these applications.
