Students, Don’t Leave Those Flash Drives Behind

Last updated on September 16, 2013 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

I work in a computer lab at school and watch students come in and out during the course of a day to check their e-mail, type up and print off papers, and work on various projects. Especially during class hours, many students sit down for just a couple of minutes as they quickly finish up some work in between running to classes. Yet in their haste they often leave behind important items: the paper they just printed out, an ID card, keys, etc. One of the easiest things to leave behind is a flash drive that is plugged into the computer. They’ve just loaded up a document from the drive that they wanted to print.

I then have the task of determining who the drive belongs to. Often this is as easy as opening up their English paper that’s on the drive and seeing their name at the top. Other times it’s not so easy, or their name isn’t there at all, and all you get are pictures of them goofing off with their roommates.

It is so easy to forget that little two-inch device. Why? Well, first off is the obvious reason that it is so small. It’s not like they’ll notice a difference in the weight of a pocket if the drive is not in there. And if it is plugged into the computer, the flash drive is not sitting out on the desk where they’ll see it as they get up to leave. And the final reason? Most flash drives are just plain boring-looking. That’s right. Boring. A black or gray plastic stick, sometimes in color, but usually not something too memorable. Maybe if it looked a little nicer, a little fancier, had more pizazz, its owner would be more likely not to forget it.

CF Gear sells flash drives customized to the needs of its customers. All sorts of colors, sizes, styles are offered. A brief examination of their website shows flash drives that swivel into a cover or have a pop-on cover, are round and rectangular, and are clear or solid. And they don’t have to be plastic—consider metal or wood for a unique look and feel.

In fact, to add a little more color and style, CF Gear can imprint the flash drives in color with a company logo or name. They offer up to four colors. So start designing away to get a smart logo to put on a drive.

Or if you want to be a little more different, check out the laser etching options. This is a great choice for leather or wood surfaces for a durable and professional-looking logo.

CF Gear can then preload these drives with custom content and duplicate them for whatever a customer’s needs may be. Whatever purpose you may be getting a drive for, one thing’s for certain. Whoever’s using it will think twice before leaving it behind in a computer.
