Use Flash Drives for Non-Traditional College Fair Promotions

Last updated on June 28, 2013 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

Whether you are a junior or senior in high school or even a non-traditional student, chances are you are exploring several different options for your future education. One great way to see what all of the schools nearby you and even perhaps further away have to offer is to attend a college fair.

These college fairs are organized so that colleges can have their own booths filled with a ton of information. The point of the information is to appeal and lure you in. As you approach a booth, the college’s ambassador begins to grab brochure after brochure, paper after paper, and then most likely a piece of candy or other cheap, give-away item.

As you are leaving the college fair, you have a stack nearly half a foot tall of paperwork, brochures, and of course the oh-so-popular lemon-flavored hard candy. The wind suddenly picks up and within seconds, all of the information you have received is scattered throughout the parking lot. As you rush to claim your disorganized mess of papers, you realize that you will just have to reenter and get new material or miss out on all the important information.

However, you look down at the CFgear customized lanyard key chain around your neck. Attached to the lanyard is a red and black, plastic CFgear flash drive. The particular college’s name and school logo has been laser engraved onto the top of the flash drive. While looking very professional and flashy to the prospective student’s eyes, it also stayed securely around your neck when the wind decided to blow away all of the other college’s printouts and brochures.

When you arrive home, you will have a disorganized mess of papers, but also the shiny, new CFgear flash drive. CFgear had customized a flash drive that left a good enough impression on you to simply plug it into your laptop’s USB drive and explore its contents. While the ambassador had highlighted some of the college’s main amenities, the preloaded flash drive automatically pops up pictures of the college, along with its name and school logo.

Also preloaded onto the flash drive is information divided into separate links including degree offerings, tuition, financial aid, college housing, parking information, sports, extracurricular activities, meal plans, and even the history, current enrollment and job placement statistics. While each of these links would definitely fill up an entire brochure a piece, the college chose to have CFgear customize a flash drive with all of the information preloaded onto it. Rather than waste paper and space, the small, transportable flash drive was an economical option to ensure that all information be delivered to their prospective students.

By having a customized, CFgear flash drive to hand to prospective students at a college fair, the college left an impression on the students and probably gave them something that they will actually use if they decide to attend college there.

If you’d like to take your college’s promotional materials to the next level and connect better with tech savvy high schoolers, contact CFgear today at 800.371.1984 to learn about their college flash drives.
