From Old Homes to Yours: Sierra Reclaimed Wood Furniture

We love our furniture builders! Recently, we took a trip out west to visit one of these great artisans who over the years has become an integral part of the Country Willow family. Pablo and his team of woodworkers are responsible for our beautiful Sierra Collection which is strongly represented throughout our 30,000 square foot store. Truly high-quality, sustainable, reclaimed wood furniture. We are proud to say that our Sierra Collection is 100% handcrafted in the USA and is available in over 100 finishes, custom sizes and designs. If you can dream it we can make it.

The cabinetmakers start with reclaimed wood, most of which is over 100 years old (so cool!). Because the pieces were formerly building materials from old joists, beams, floors and walls, all nails need to be removed – and this is done by hand. The wood is carefully inspected, sanded, cleaned up and repaired before it can be used for furniture. The process is laborious, but so worth it!

One of our favorite parts about visiting the workshop was getting to see the wood in its original form. The boards we inspected were from old buildings and factories located within a 100-mile radius of the shop. Truly starting from scratch!
