A pool remodeling project may be one that’s practical and necessary, such as putting in a new finish or replacing old, worn-out equipment. Or it can be something aesthetic, such as adding new lighting, landscaping, or water features (see Parts 1, 2 & 3). On the other hand, if you have the financial resources to do so, you can go completely over the top by adding luxury features to your pool. Then you’ll finally have the backyard paradise of your dreams. Here are some high-end pool remodeling ideas you could consider to make your pool the envy of the neighborhood!
Install a Refreshing Spa in Your Patio Area
What better way to recreate the ambiance of a five-star hotel in your backyard than with a fancy new spa? There are a whole host of different shapes and sizes to choose from to suit your style and budget. You can soak in the hot water and let those soothing jets put you in a relaxing mood after a long day at work. It’s the perfect place to unwind with friends and family members at your next pool party. Incorporate hardscaping, LED color changing lighting, and even a waterproof audio music system for the ultimate spa experience.
Include a Swim-Up Bar in Your Pool
Rather than have to track water through the house each time you want to get a cold drink, why not simply add a swim-up bar for your favorite snacks and beverages? These convenient snack and drink stations allow you to stay seated at built-in underwater bar stools that are located at a countertop right beside a sheltered food and drink station located on your backyard patio. A family member who doesn’t want to get in the water can bring you and your friends their drinks and hors d’oeuvres from the nearby outdoor refrigerator. If you love backyard entertaining, you can even take this concept to the next level by installing a full outdoor kitchen and dining area!
Add an Awesome Entertainment Center
If you love watching your favorite movies, sporting events, and TV shows, but you don’t want to be cooped up in the house, add a backyard entertainment center. Then you can enjoy the best of the great outdoors with your family and still get to enjoy the big game. It’s a win-win situation for everyone! Along with your big screen outdoor TV, you can add surround sound wireless waterproof speakers to keep your next party going strong!
Catch Some Rays With a New Tanning Shelf
Tanning shelves are all the rage when it comes to pool design right now. These shallow ledges that hug the exterior walls of your pool are ideal for lazy reclining in the chaise lounge while you work on achieving that perfect summer tan. They’re also a great place to sit while you hold a little one in your lap or watch younger kids or grandchildren swim safely nearby at arm’s length.
These are just a few of the ways you can add some elements of luxury to your backyard oasis. In our final article in this series, we’ll take a look at some remodeling ideas that can make it easier to care for your pool.
