Once in a while, you don’t have to choose between brains and beauty: you get both. And that’s exactly what Classics 4.0 Cherry collection from Smartstuff™ by Universal Furniture offers. This win-win scenario involves more than well-made furniture pieces that will survive the regular misadventures of childhood. The carefully designed lines offer the appearance of historic significance, while the tech-savvy, storage-oriented features couldn’t be more modern. The best of both worlds can be seen in the two bed styles we already reviewed in Part 1, as well as these additional choices for the sleeping center of the room.
Classics 4.0 Cherry Bunk Bed
The Classics 4.0 Cherry Bunk Bed offers a stylish option for those wishing to save space while offering sleep space for more than one child. The Twin size measures 43 inches wide, 86 inches deep and 48 inches high. Another option is the Twin over Full size, which is 58 inches wide.
The Twin over Full size bunk bed provides a way to easily incorporate a guest bed into your child’s bedroom, without having to deal with the storage issues that accompany a roll-away bed or the discomfort of an air mattress. Not all Bunk Beds can function as two separate beds as stylishly as these beds can, but when they’re stacked they offer wider ladder steps for added safety, as well as extra support needed for quality mattresses.
Bonus Points: The top bunk includes a removable shelf that’s perfect for use as a miniature night stand. This bed can also accommodate additional storage options of either the Cherry Rolling Storage Trundle or Storage Drawer.
Classics 4.0 Cherry Arched Slat Bed with Low Profile Footboard
With a headboard similar to those of the Bunk Bed and footboard similar to the Panel Bed, the Classics 4.0 Cherry Arched Slat Bed with Low Profile Footboard provides an additional distinctive design for those who desire a Full sized bed for their child’s bedroom.
Bonus Points: Like all other beds in this collection, this one offers an add-on Trundle option with the potential for either an extra mattress or under-bed Storage Drawers.
Classics 4.0 Cherry Nightstand
The Classics 4.0 Cherry Nightstand is the perfect companion for any of the Classics 4.0 Cherry collection beds. Measuring 23 inches wide by 17 inches deep and 25 inches high, it features an open area for electronics above a single, self-closing drawer.
Bonus Points: The night stand includes a built-in, touch-activated night light and charging station just perfect for iPods, tablets, or cell phones. You’ll also find a set of coasters in the drawer, as a gracious reminder to your kids to be careful what they place on top of their new wood furniture.
