Multitasking Pieces: Kids Beds with Study Space

Last updated on January 7, 2016 by Sozo Staff Leave a Comment

When it comes to multi-tasking, the Study Loft is, perhaps, the ultimate example. While the bed is arguably the most significant piece of furniture in your child’s bedroom (hence the name), a desk is, perhaps, its ideal counterpart. Study lofts allow you to maximize space while allowing for the visual stillness your child needs for a good night’s sleep.

Ultra High Study Loft

Available in either Twin or Full size, the Ultra High Study Loft features a 5- or 6-Drawer Staircase that can be set up on either side and comes in your choice of 4 finish colors as well as an accent color and hardware color of your choice. The premium model comes with a Full-Length Desk and Cork/Shelf Backing to make it more like a desk with a hutch, maximizing the multi-tasking possibilities. Beside the 3-Drawer Desk, the 3-Drawer Chest also fits, which adds to the storage space built into the stairs. If you’d prefer, you could eliminate the Desk Backing, Drawer Chest, or the entire Desk.

The Ultra-High Study Loft measures 96 inches wide and 74.5 inches high. On the side without stairs, the Twin bed measures 42 inches deep, whereas the Full bed measures 57 inches deep. Either measures 61 inches deep on the side with the stairs.

Convertible Loft Bed

This innovative bed combines the best of both worlds, offering the benefits of both a study loft and a bunk bed. You can easily conceal the bottom bed behind the spacious desk, converting the unit from use as a desk to another bed in only seconds. This bed style is ideal for older children and teens or even those living in a studio apartment or wishing to combine a guest room with a home office.

As a free-standing unit, no anchoring to floors or walls is necessary. All units are equipped with automatic locking mechanisms, levelers, and sizable desks that include surge protectors.

Located behind the 75-inch-wide desk (and still accessible when the lower bed is down), you’ll discover an 80-inch-long hanging bookshelf. The desk, which is 24 inches deep, can comfortably fit two people working. The lamp clearance requires 17 inches in front and 12 inches in the rear. The top bed fits an Extra-Long Twin mattress, and the bottom is set up for a Standard Twin. The unit measures 102 inches long by 59 inches deep and 72 inches high and is available in White, Nutmeg, or Chestnut finish.

In the fourth and final post in this series on multi-tasking pieces, we’ll look at game-changing pieces that offer even more possibilities than you can imagine!
